Derriere le Miroir was established in 1946 by Aimé and Marguerite Maeght, owners of the Maeght Gallery in Paris, to distribute original lithographic works by artists they represented. For thirty six years, the publication documented both the gallery’s exhibitions and as well as the impressive post-war output of graphic work. 

In addition to original colour lithographs by Canadian artist Jean-Paul Riopelle, the edition includes texts by André du Bouchet, Pierre Schneider, Jean-Luc de Rudder and Jacques Dupin. Also includes a catalogue of 25 paintings and 8 sculptures exhibited at the Maeght Gallery.
