With 98 catalogue entries prefaced by Their Excellencies Sheika Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Sheika Sara bint Saoud bin Mohamed Al Thani, the present volume celebrates the incredible eye and vast interests of Sheikh Saoud Al Thani. 'From Islamic art to Fabergé objects, photography, Art Deco furniture, fossils, minerals, ancient coins and classical sculptures', the Sheikh himself gave an account of his collecting practice in the previously unpublished essay 'My Frog is My Time Machine'.
