Archive Consultation and Sales
An art archive may take many forms: correspondence between artist and client accumulated over years, drawings of manufacturers' studios, photographs of an artist’s work, sales ledgers, invoices and stock books. All of these give a day-by-day account of art dealing and constitute collections of material which may have considerable value.
We have many years’ experience working on the archives of art dealers and others, and have advised on those of:
Thomas Agnew & Co (acquired by the National Gallery)
P & D Colnaghi Ltd (now at Waddesdon Manor Archive)
Duveen Brothers (belonging to the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute)
Loewi-Robertson Textile archive
Duchesse de Berry archive
Get in touch with us if you would like advice or wish to ensure your archive falls into the right hands and is accessible for future research.
