386 pages, 635 Illustrations. Hardback. 30 x 28cms.

Second volume of the raisonné, following Kelly from his return to New York from France in 1954 through his early years living in the artist community of downtown Coenties Slip, where he shared a studio with friend and fellow abstract painter Agnes Martin, who inspired him to approach sculpture. During this period Kelly's style evolved beyond the foundation of his French Cubist and modernist influences, bridging the abstraction of the 1940s and the minimalism of the 1960s. With a catalogue of 102 works (numbered 142 to 244), all illustrated and discussed in detail alongside preparatory drawings, diary entries and period photographs. Including a chronology and a list of exhibitions.
