Les Bijoux des Francais Volume III
La Collection de Lionel Bonnemère: Bijoux régionaux, art populaire et amulettes
by Michael C.W. Fieggen
304 pages, copiously illustrated in colour 23.5 × 30. Text in French. However, the author is offering a Word file translating every page into English upon request.
A catalogue of the collection of some 3,000 objects, the majority gathered in France, relating to personal adornment, ritual and magic assembled by Lionel Bonnemère in the late 19th century, acquired by the Musée d’Ethnographie du Trocadéro in 1901 and now preserved at the Mucem.
For the first time, this book reunites the objects with transcriptions from Bonnemère’s notebooks - detailing their provenance - while identifying and illustrating the corresponding objects in the museum’s collections.
